MAG TEAM REVIEW:

This MGS MAG/ER status report covers the period:
9-15 September, 2001 (DOY's 252-258)

MAG/ER instrument temperatures, currents, and voltages are within nominal ranges.

A gif plot of the instrument parameters for the week is located at:
http://mgs-mager.gsfc.nasa.gov/status/sr01252-258.html

Previous status reports for the magnetometer and electron
reflectometer instruments can be selected for viewing at:
http://mgs-mager.gsfc.nasa.gov/status/index.html

The plotted quantities are:
MCP_V-->micro-channel plate voltage
A_MA--> controller current

A_TEMP-->controller temperature
ER_TEMP-->ER temperature
IB_TEMP-->inboard temperature
OB_TEMP-->outboard temperature

The MAG and ER instruments were commanded on at 1927 UTC, September 11, 2001,
DOY 254. The turn on sequence includes the MAG and ER power on commands,
the ER diagnostics, and an ER software patch memory load.

The initial fluctuations in the MCP_V are due to the ER diagnostics.

The patch enable NIPC was radiated at 1351 UTC, September 15, DOY 258. This
completes the return to full MAG-ER operations.

Gaps on DOY 254 and 255 are unexplained, but are assumed due to
post-contingency, pre-mapping sequence adjustments in recorder playback.

On DOY 256, the large data gap between 1134 and 2252 is due to lack of
DSN coverage (according to map sequence mm153a_03_map).

There is a small (~15 minute) gap on DOY 257 that is unexplained.
