MAG TEAM REVIEW:

This MGS MAG/ER status report covers the period:
26-31 December 2004 (DOYs 361-366)

MAG/ER instrument temperatures, currents, and voltages are within nominal ranges.

A gif plot of the instrument parameters for the week is located at:
http://mgs-mager.gsfc.nasa.gov/status/sr04361-366.html

Previous status reports for the magnetometer and electron
reflectometer instruments can be selected for viewing at:
http://mgs-mager.gsfc.nasa.gov/status/index.html

The plotted quantities are:
MCP_V-->micro-channel plate voltage
A_MA--->controller current

A_TEMP--->controller temperature
ER_TEMP-->ER temperature
IB_TEMP-->inboard temperature
OB_TEMP-->outboard temperature

The spacecraft has been brought out of contingency mode. The magnetometer and
electron reflectometer instruments were turned on during DOY 362 (27 Dec 2004)
at 1815 UTC. Upon review of the ER diagnostic data, D. Mitchell recommended
increasing the MCP bias voltage and rerunning the MCP diagnostic. These
commands were bundled with our usual patch enable, post-turn on commands
and executed on DOY 364 (29 Dec 2004) at 1556 UTC. D. Mitchell has confirmed
that the voltage setting is now at an optimal level.

The slower than usual stabilization of the A_TEMP after turn on occurred
because the mag-er instruments were the first science instruments turned on.
As other instruments powered on, the temperature increased (usually,
because of our turn-on requirements, we are the second or third instruments
to power up).

(Note, the data for 1 Jan 2005 will be plotted with next week's data.
Temperatures, voltages, and currents for that day were nominal.)
